Vladimir Lenin was a Russian revolutioary, communist theorist and politician. He became the architect of the Bolshevik revolution which made him one of the most influential political leaders of the 20th century. His father’s death and the horrific episode of his brother’s execution forced Vladimir Lenin to revolt. He initiated several small-scale protests at his law college and was soon expelled. Vladimir Lenin graduated from the reputed ‘St. Petersburg University’ with a degree in law. After being appointed a barrister, he started developing ways for the application of his Marxist Ideology and joined the ‘Social Democrats’ outfit. He travelled to meet famous Russian Marxist ideologists like George Plekhanov and others, who were exiled to West Europe. During the World War he voluntarily relocated to Switzerland and published ‘Imperialism, The highest Stage of Capitalism’ which reflected his views on the ongoing conflict. He came back to a politically unstable Russia after the world war and banked upon his leadership qualities to form a Soviet Government. He declared a series of decrees which stripped monarchs off their rights on lands and instead distributed it to the peasants.
